The 2009 AITES workshop in Abingdon Virginia

The AITES Washington and Russell Community Cohort Teams are finalizing their mini-grant proposals. The submissions are great and the CCTs members along with our VA trainer/consultant, Judy Compton, are excited about the upcoming mini-grant activities.

The 2009 AITES workshop presenters Powerpoint slides will be posted as a resource for our CCTs. You will find them on the Workshop page.  After you login click on the Workshops page on the right side bar. From here, select ‘2009 AITES workshop Information.’ Scroll down to ‘Workshop Resources’ – here you will find all the 2009 workshop resources.

At the 2009 AITES workshop our content specialists presented information regarding Parent Education, Gender Equity, the Learning Partnership Model, the IT industry & relevant curriculum issues, and advising students on job and career choices.

Here Elizabeth G. Creamer presents the Learning Partnership Model.

We also had a great IT-panel made up of local IT professionals from the Washington and Russell counties. The panel updated CCT members on local IT job and career opportunities in the local area along with what their current and future work force needs will entail.  Barbara Lockee (standing) hosted our IT-panel.

Our team members, CCT participants, and IT-panel guests got involved in a Lego robotics activity.

We also had the pleasure of having Kate Long performed at our workshop dinner.

Kate Long is an Appalachian singer, songwriter, storyteller, author and journalist.
